Truth?

Image
My pondering questions: If the truth is not the truth, then what is true? Is it the truth of one or the truth of many? And which truth is the truest true of the truth? I know it's been a while since I posted. I now have more time to post here so I might be here more often. It you want to know what I've been up to here is a cliff note version: We hiked a few times. Here are a few pictures from those hikes: We are done with the Chippewa Moraine Segment. Our hikes are not as long as last year because of the husbands ankle, the weather from time to time and our jobs. I'm not sure how much more we will be hiking this year. I do recommend hiking different trails when ever you get the chance. You never know what you'll see. I did do a plastic canvas project. This is something my son-in-law thought would be interesting to have. I offered to try and make one. Here it is:  He wants to put it in their bathroom.  If you don't know whe...

July 2018

Image
It's July 1st, Sunday morning. The house is quiet. The husband is still sleeping. The sun will shine a bit today. It did rain last night after a couple of days of temps in the 90's. Which was too hot for me.  I was on vacation this last week. We went hiking a couple of times. I guess I'll show you a few of pictures from those hikes. Along the trail from time to time are benches. Some have dedications on them, some don't.  Not sure what this shack was for. Maybe it was an outhouse, or a hunting shack or someone suggested a North woods Tardis. What do you think?  This is a map of the trail we have been following going East.  We had been going west but the husband needed to be closer because he was baling hay.  Not sure where we will hike the next time. We might continue going East or maybe taking the trail West. It all depends on the mood and the weather. That's about all I did this last week. July, for me is going to be starting out n...

Hiking and Pondering things.

Image
I know I really missed the first of the month. I could have written something a number of times. But when the thoughts came to me I was no where near a computer. First off I will say we have been hiking. So far we have done four hikes. Here are a few pics from those hikes:  Picture of the Chippewa River. Taken during the first hike.  This nest was right next to the trail. The mama was very near by. Three of the four hikes were over by Cornell area. The last picture was taken during our shortest hike going east of here. We officially finished Taylor county. When we go east again we will be starting in Lincoln county.   So that is one thing we have been doing lately. Only weather permitting of course.  One other thing is we have celebrated our granddaughters first birthday.  They made her, her own smash cake. She got a bath right away after that. Other wise the rest of my days have been the same old same old boring days. Exc...

Just Pondering, Again

Image
I know you were expecting me to post on the first. Well, the only excuse I can give you is....I was not in the mood. I think my posts here are going to be a lot more random. I will say within a couple of months I will be done with the letters on Dear Howard, A Fading History.  I might start spending more time here pondering things. Time will tell. As for other things going on in my life. I have not been able to start my hiking adventure yet this year. The husband is still not able to. And he doesn't want me out in the woods by myself. I'm still hoping maybe next weekend we might be able to give a short hike a try or at least take walks down the road. I've tried to tell him he could drop me off at one spot and pick me up at the other end but he is not going for it. He enjoys these hikes to and wants to see what I see at the same time.  Well enough about hiking. I do have a couple of pondering things to bring up. One question I've been asking people late...

September 2017

If anyone does follow this blog, I know I'm late with the monthly post. Sorry. To tell you the truth, I forgot about it on the first until I was almost ready to go to bed.  I guess I really don't have a good  excuse. But I'm here now. So lets see, what can I talk about this last month. I saw the solar eclipse on the 21st. It was only about maybe 80% visible here. I did have a pair of the glasses so I could see it that way.  I took the day off from work so I would not miss it. It was a very calm day.  Here's a little story about what happened before that. The husband and I had gone to town to get a few things. When we got back there was a mommy deer in the yard and her baby. The baby was nursing. That is the first time I have seen that happen. I wish I had a camera with me. I know your saying, "Well you have a cell phone, don't you?" All I can say, is it's a flip phone and by the time I would have dug it out of my purse, the baby would not h...

August 2017

Image
Well it's the 1st of August. I don't know about you but it feels like this year has just been flying by faster then I want it to. July had it's moments.  Nothing earth shattering happened to me. We did go hiking a few times. When it was not raining or too hot or the husband was not baling hay. You want to see a few pictures? Well they are:  The hikes were all very good. The weather was just right most of the time. During the hikes we saw different things. During one hike the husband almost walked into a bear. He was in front of me and about to round a curve in the trail when he stopped and said "Woo". I said. "What?" He said, "Bear". That's when I heard the bear start to go crashing though the woods. He figured it was about a 300 lbs. I just hope we do not run into any more. I still plan on trying to get the trail through Taylor County done by I hope Labor Day weekend. At least that's when he want...

July 2017

It's hard to believe that June is gone. Half the year is gone. This year is just flying by for me. Well June was a kind of busy one. I became a Grandma for the first time. Her name is Lillian Rose. She was born on the 11th. The husband and I were in the room when she entered the world.  She weighed 7 lb 14 oz and was 19 inches long. I don't get to see her to often because they live over an hour away. We have been able to see her on the weekends though. She is growing like a weed and is very healthy. I'll tell you about her from time to time. Another thing we did this month was go hiking again. Here are a few of the pictures I took:  I'm just glad we did not meet the bear that made this track. Because of all the rain we have been getting a lot of places on the trail are very wet. The last hike we had a number of places we had to go around because of the mud and water. These sections of the trail are in a lower area so they of course are we...

June 2017

It's almost hard to believe that the year is almost half over. Why does it feel like this year just flying by? Is it because I'm getting older? You know the older you get the faster time flies. This last month for me had it's moments. We got lots of rain which made it harder to get things done outside. A lot of farmers around here have been finding it hard to get fields planted. The husband has one more field to do yet. Hopefully tomorrow he might get it done. It's suppose to rain again this weekend.  All this rain is making it hard for me to go hiking. We did hike three times. The last one we a bit muddy. I did slip in the mud once. You want to see? When this was taken it was almost dry. The husband said we have to take a break for a a couple of weeks for a few reasons. 1st: To muddy. 2nd: To many wood ticks. He had more then I did. I think it might have to do with the fact I make sure my clothes are dried with Bounce Dryer sheets. Plus the la...

March 2017

It's almost hard to believe that two months have gone by. I don't know if it feels like time is going faster because I'm getting older or it things are just happening that much faster. The last month for me personally was just the same old same old. But I did learn a classmate of mine passed away. We were never friends. In fact, he was one of the first ones that made my school days very miserable. Looking back on way things turned out the way they did, I kind of wish things had been different between us. He had always been on my mind when he shouldn't have been. I think that if things had been different we could have been friends and the future would have been different for both of us. But dumb me missed a last chance to see him at our last class reunion back in 2015. Now I will forever live with that regret. If I could send  him a message now I would say: Peter Keuer: To the boy I knew,  and to the man I wish I had known, you will forever be in my...

Feb. 2017

Well it's the beginning of another month. January just flew by. Let see what can I tell you about the last month. My daughter and her husband announced what they are having in a kind of explosive way in my backyard. The woods is now pink. I will have a granddaughter come June sometime. Before I go any farther I will show you the swing: We have a far amount of snow right now. There was more but there was that warm spell that closed the snowmobile trail for awhile. I think that some might be opening again this weekend in some places. But I really don't care because I don't snowmobile.  If you are looking for the pink, the recent snow covered it up, so sorry. I don't know if you can see the stump in the back. There's not much left of it after the announcement. The rest of the month was not real exciting for me. Well nothing that is worth mentioning anyway. I have been working on a project. It's half done. I haven't been in the mood lately...
