Weekend Brain Overdrive

You ever have one of those mornings, especially on a weekend morning when you don't have to get up early to start your day, when your brain wakes you up with a bunch of different things running through your head?  That was my morning right now.  During the week when I work I get up at 4:10 am. The weekends are suppose to be a time when I can at least sleep until 6 am maybe, right? Not this morning. I suppose your wondering what kind of things are running through my head? Well they are very random things. Ranging from things in the news to running lines through my head from the play I'm involved in. ( The Foreigner. I'm Betty Meeks) to things I've got to do around the house. That kind of stuff. And while I'm trying to get my brain to settle down, the birds outside are already singing up a storm. Trayvon, Earth Quakes and Survivor

The shooting of Trayvon Martin was one that should have never happened. Do I think that the guy who shot him should be charged? Your darn right he should be. Whatever excuse he gives for doing it are not excepting in my book. If you are going to be a neighborhood watch person you should know everyone in your neighborhood. That means to meet them and to let them know who you are. That's what neighbors do. Get to know one another especially if you want to help protect one another. You don't have to get to know everything about everyone. You just need to know who each other is and be able to at least say hi to one another in passing. Simple right?  Why can't we do this simple act of kindness? Because, we are so wrapped up in ourselves and or are suspicious of one another. We are afraid to know anyone outside of our families or social groups. If I could start a movement it would be knowing who your neighbors are enough to at least say HI when you meet them on the street in ...
