It's almost hard to believe that the year is almost half over. Why does it feel like this year just flying by? Is it because I'm getting older? You know the older you get the faster time flies. This last month for me had it's moments. We got lots of rain which made it harder to get things done outside. A lot of farmers around here have been finding it hard to get fields planted. The husband has one more field to do yet. Hopefully tomorrow he might get it done. It's suppose to rain again this weekend.  All this rain is making it hard for me to go hiking. We did hike three times. The last one we a bit muddy. I did slip in the mud once. You want to see? When this was taken it was almost dry. The husband said we have to take a break for a a couple of weeks for a few reasons. 1st: To muddy. 2nd: To many wood ticks. He had more then I did. I think it might have to do with the fact I make sure my clothes are dried with Bounce Dryer sheets. Plus the la...

A little of this and a little of that

This week has been a kind of humdrum week for me. Lets start with last weekend, Labor Day weekend. This is my brother and his wife  at the family cabin showing how humdrum things can be for them. My dad every year puts on an end of the summer get together at the cabin. He invites allot of family members, neighbors from home, the people from around the cabin and other people he knows. He tells people to come hang out, bring a dish to pass and to  just hang out around the fire pit for some campfire therapy. It's a very relaxing time for all. Well that was Saturday for me. Sunday the husband and I went to the Marshfield  fair.  And I forgot my camera. But it was a fair, allot more things to see and do then when they had our fair. Monday just hung out at home. The rest of the week was no big deal for me. The husband was home all week because where he works shut down for the week. So I've had no me time at night to do much pondering. Right now he is at ...

Jean Viken update and other local things.

This past week Channel 7 has been doing stories on the cold case of Jean Viken.I did see one of them. In it the police said they know who did it but they are waiting for someone to come forward. But no matter what four young children will be without their mother for the rest of their lives because someone decided to end her life out of the meanness of their heart. Here is the story I found on the internet: Jean Viken's friends and family remember her as a loving mother of four young kids, a devoted daughter and sister. But nearly four years after her murder, a dark cloud hangs over Jean's memory, as they continue to search for answers. "We were having a birthday party for her because all of her friends would have wanted to get together like we would have done if she was here," Jane Hempel said. Almost five months after Jane Hempel reported her sister Jean Viken missing, family and friends gathered to celebrate her birthday, hoping to feel some semblance o...

Pondering oil and other things

It's another quiet Sunday morning. The husband is out trying to get a turkey. It's his last day to get one. So far the turkeys are teasing him. Every time he comes back he tells me all the tales of all the tom turkeys that he saw at the last minute or should I say saw him before he saw them. It's been a tall turkey tale weekend. The funny part is this morning when I let the dog out I heard a turkey gobbling behind the house. I guess when he gets home I'll have to ask him it he heard any turkeys and then tell him I did and it sounded very close. And it was not one of ours. Well that's enough turkey talk there are allot of things that happen this week that I should comment on. Like the oil that is gushing in the gulf. Now that's a mess. So many questions and not enough solutions. Will this stop the attempts at getting oil from the ocean? Will this make oil companies make sure they have better safety measures? Well this give the people who are always looking for...
