Ponder Pages

Hello. I know it's been a little longer then I promised but life things keep getting in the way.  I still have the mother-in-laws dogs. We are adjusting but we still have to find a different home for them. But first in the family then if agreed upon somewhere else. The reason why is my granddaughter has an allergy to dogs. So if I want her to come visit or even spend the night we have to find a different place for them. The husband has been off because of surgery on his ankle but he will be going back tomorrow. So I will have most of my nights to myself again.  Once these two things happen I might get back to my normal. Those are the two main things happening in my life. Now on to pondering: Well the usual things have been front and center. President Dweeb has been trying to do things to top what other presidents have done. You know the killing of that one guy. He blow himself up when he was cornered. The sad part is he took two innocent children with him. ...

I know I'm a day late. What can I say it's kind of distracting around here right now. This month has been not what I wanted. The husband is dealing with a broken foot that happened at work. The doctors are not being very helpful. The doc he was seeing said it was just a contusion. Wrong! He went it the other day again and was told it is fractured. Now he has a boot on and they said they are going to get on top of it. They were suppose to call yesterday and start setting something up. No call. I'm thinking it time I release my inner bitch and give them all a piece of my mind in a way they won't see coming.  This is seriously going to damage my plans to continue hiking the Ice Age Trail. I know I sound selfish. But the husband is also finding it very hard it get a lot of other things done around here. It is making it harder for him to care for the cattle with ease. Well it's the 1st of August. I don't know about you but it feels like this year has just been flying by faster then I want it to. July had it's moments.  Nothing earth shattering happened to me. We did go hiking a few times. When it was not raining or too hot or the husband was not baling hay. You want to see a few pictures? Well they are:  The hikes were all very good. The weather was just right most of the time. During the hikes we saw different things. During one hike the husband almost walked into a bear. He was in front of me and about to round a curve in the trail when he stopped and said "Woo". I said. "What?" He said, "Bear". That's when I heard the bear start to go crashing though the woods. He figured it was about a 300 lbs. I just hope we do not run into any more. I still plan on trying to get the trail through Taylor County done by I hope Labor Day weekend. I know if anyone is following me, I'm sorry I'm late with this post. I was out of town yesterday so I'll post something now. First I will share a couple of pictures I took on Friday. We were up north of here at Minocqua. These were taken at the "Wildwood Wild Life Park. They are always changing things. They are adding an area that will  have more animals from Africa. It is a very family friendly place. There are a number of goats that are running around in the one area. And some deer that are running around in another. And as you can see there also a number of turtles running around. And you can see having fun with one another. After seeing that I know why there were so many smaller turtles in different pens.  And this black bear was just chillin' out, maybe after one to many bear sodas. It's hard to believe it's the beginning of April already. How has your last month go? Mine was nothing much to talk about. Before I get into anything let me show you the swing. As you can see, no snow, at the moment I took this picture. But it has been snowing a little bit here and little bit there. It does not stay long, thank goodness. I just want it to dry up so we can start doing other things in outside. Here are pictures of the swing from the last two years. This was last year,2015 This was 2014, the year we didn't think winter would ever end. You just never know what the weather will like at this time from year to year. I'm thinking about stopping showing you pictures of the swing every month. During the summer it does not change very much. Each winter can be so different, that is the time to share a picture. Another year is here. How was 2015 for you? Mine was really not to bad. My youngest daughter was married. The rest of the year was fairly calm for, compared to how a lot of people's lives. Before I get into any pondering's let me show you the swing from today. I was thinking about having the pit going when I took the picture but it was early and we had plans to go somewhere, which we did, so You'll just have to settle with a non fire pit burning kind of picture for the first of the year. My son-in-law saw something like it on "The Big Theory". So my daughter asked me if I could make one. It's a tissue cover. I know I'm a day late and a dollar short. I have a good excuse. I was on a short trip to Minnesota and did not get home till later in the day.  First here is the first of the month picture of the swing. (I did take one last night after we got home)  As you can see the food plot the husband planted is growing nicely.  I suppose your wondering what is in front of it now. Let me show you. It's our version of a fire pit area. It's not completely done yet but it is usable now. We plan on making a kind of planter around three sides where I hope to plant plants that help keep mosquitoes away. Plus on the corners will be places to hang containers for candles. I finally found what I wanted. They already have citronella candles in them. Now to get the right kind of weekend and it will be the perfect place to chill out.   I have not been working on any plastic canvas projects. I can't seem to get myself in the mood.
