Deep Thought

Image
This week I had a thought about deep thoughts. I was having a deep thought when I wondered what other kind of deep thoughts other people were having that day. When you work in a factory it turns out that most people will not admit to having a deep thought. When I ask people what deep thought they have had so far today the majority had one of three answers. 1. Will we be working Friday? 2. Is it break time yet? 3. I wish I was back home in bed. I did a get a few other answers. Like,  One person was thinking about an owl he saw in his back yard. One was thinking about really honestly keeping track of her eating habits. One said his kids. One said he was thinking about how much the Republican candidates are nothing but a joke.  But others could not think of an answer. One guy laughed at me and said I think too much. And said I was an ass. OK I will admit I can be bothersome from time to time. But my brain is always pondering all kinds of thing everyday. I just want to know w

Is there any humanity left?

The definition of  humanity: kindness to other people or to animals; studies emphasizing the culture aspects of civilization. I don't know about you but I've not heard to much about it lately. One story on the news this week happened in Madison. A 15 year old that was starved and abused by her father, stepmother and stepbrother. She was found wondering on the street in obvious need of help. She was malnourished weighing about 70 pounds. She had been forced to live in the unfinished basement of the house which was built by Habitat for Humanity (the stepmother helped build it) for the last six years. She was forced to eat her own feces and drink her own urine. If she was caught eating without permission she was forced to throw up.  Plus her 18 year old step brother had been allegedly had been molesting her since she was ten years old. The girl is now being taken care of in the hospital and her mother, who lives in Texas wants to take her home with her. She has not had contac

Teacher troubles

Lately in the news there have been a number of reports of teachers doing things that are very unteacher like. In California you have teachers that are doing things to their students that should never have been thought of even for a moment. In my opinion it's only the tip of the iceberg with that case. In Wisconsin in a couple of towns east of here a few teachers, a principle and coach have been caught growing and selling drugs. Their not sure at this point if they were selling to students but I ask why? The towns they taught in are known to have allot of issues with kids and drugs maybe that's why, the teachers were doing the supplying. And every once in awhile you hear of some teacher having sex with a student. What is wrong with these people? I just don't get it. I know teaching is not easy when the kids they are trying to teach have allot of issues themselves and they make it harder to teach. It's very frustrating. But why turn to the dark side? I'm no

The drive to work

Driving to work the other day I got to thinking about the different things I've seen or experienced on the way to work. There have been some times I wish I had a camera with me. Like I'm not sure how many years ago it was but, it was when there was no snow on the ground and it was very light out. It must have been before they changed our working time to 6am instead of 6:30 am. Anyway, I come up over the hill at the end of my road and looked across, it almost took my breath away. There was a low hanging fog in the low spot and all you could see was the roof of a house. If I would have had time I would have run back home to get my camera. But I didn't so the only thing I have is the memory.   Living in the country in the middle of Wisconsin most of the traffic jams I experience are a little different then you would in the city. Like deer on the road.  There have been allot of times when a deer has decided to join me on the road. I always see them soon enough so I slow down
