Weekend at House on the Rocks

This last weekend the husband and I along with the youngest one spent the weekend down in Spring Green. We were going to go to House on the Rocks. We were very lucky to find a motel room for the night.
If you are wondering what House on the rocks is well, it's a house that was built on top of rocks back in the fifties by a man named Alex Jordan. It open to the public in 1960. It's an amazing place. The most amazing room in the Infinity Room which project about 218 feet out. It contains over 3000 windows. At almost the end is a place where you can look down to the floor of the woods below. He also enjoyed collecting things. It's a collection of collections.
In 1968 the next part opened called the Millhouse. Collections included dolls, mechanical banks, paperweights, guns (some looked very strange), things that play all kinds of music plays in different areas. By putting a special token or two in different boxes you could play these different kinds of music.
The next part opened in 1971 called the Streets of Yesterday. Its like a 19th century main street set in the evening which means it's a little dark making it hard to get good pictures any where. it's very interesting looking in the different shops or houses. Like a firehouse, barbershop, toy store, eye doctor and towns leading citizen just to name a few.
In 1990 they opened the Heritage of the Sea. In the center is a 200 foot whale and an octopus battling. Around the platforms going around this are displays of anything nautical. In this room the music Octopus's Garden plays.
Other rooms are Tribute to Nostalgia opened in 1995. There are Burma Shave signs and a car coated in tile.
Music of Yesterday opened in 1974.
Spirit of Aviation opened in 2002.
The Worlds largest Carousel opened 1981. (Not a horse on the whole thing)
Organ room opened in 1981.
Inspiration room open 2006.
Doll House Room opened in 1984. Dolls and more dolls of all kinds.
Circus room opened in 1987.
There are collections of weapons, armor, oriental, Crown jewels plus other things.
This was I think my fourth time. I guess once every 10 years is good thing because there is always more things being added.

This is one of the signs of inspiration from the Inspiration Room
This a one of the things you can find in one of the men's room.

The day before we had gone for a ride to see what else was in the area we found this plane. This is a plane that was used in a commercial done with Farrah. It has her signiture. It looks like they painted over it at one time.
Thought of the Day:
"The signs are always with us, whether we take notice or not."
