Ponder Pages

Well it's been over a year since I started recording pictures of my swing. Here is the picture of the swing on the first of February. Here is a picture of the swing last year. Last year at this time we had a lot more snow, as you can see. South of here a hundred miles or so it is snowing. South and East they are getting hit by a big storm. It may not be snowing here but it is cold and windy. This is the time of year it is easier to tell the differences in the years. I might also over time do somethings around the swing to help tell the different years. I have also completed a couple of projects. Here they are. This little guy is suppose to hang on a door knob. The husband said I could put magnets on it and put it on the fridge.  As you can see they are scarecrows and crows on a kind of wooden wreath. It should have a bow on it but right now I don't what color to put on. What do you think? As for things going on in my live, I've ...

It's the beginning of a new year. The last one, as usual had more challenges for the world then we saw coming. I'm sure this next one will be more of the same. I don't make resolutions. I may have tried somethings last year but I didn't keep too many of them. Making changes in your life can be done at anytime.  One thing I am sticking to is taking a picture of my swing the first of every month. I started this in February of last year. So this next picture is the first for January.   As I was taking this picture it was lightly snowing. The temp was about 12 above zero. This weekend it's suppose to get below zero for awhile, again. Next month you will be able to see the differences between last February and this one. That is one thing I will try to keep up with. Showing you the difference of the beginning of every month from year to year. Over time you might see differences I might want to do some changes around the swing from time to time too.    One ...

I wasn't going to post anything right now but, I changed my mind. So sue me. It's early morning, almost 6 am. The husband snored me out of bed, again. When he does that on the weekends I usually check my computer things while it's quiet.  This morning while going through things I had time and a few thoughts to get off my chest. What kind of things you ask? Well there has been a lot of things going on in the world that are really sad to be happening at what is suppose to be the happiest time of the year. Seeing I got time I will put my two cents worth in. The thing going on with Sony and being hacked by someone. The finger is being pointed at North Korea. I'm not sure how I feel about the movie "The Interview" being pulled from being shown to the public. I will say it's only a movie, so chill out. I did not plan on seeing it because it did not appeal to me.  In my opinion when they made the movie they could have made up a country and nam...

Well I survived the last month, how about you?  Before I get into anything else in the world I'l show you the picture of this month swing. As you can see we have snow. Actually it did melt almost gone once but then it snowed again and we had the same amount. If you look close you can see what looks like tracks or little trails. Well, last night after dark, after the hunting season closed around here, there were around 15 deer in the yard and field. And they made this area a bucks only zone because we had such a hard winter last season. There are lots deer around here that survived last winter. Speaking of hunting season, the husband got a three point buck on Thanksgiving morning. Our freezer is almost full so we gave it to our youngest daughter. He could only get one deer this time. So far he has gotten one with the bow and one with the regular gun. Now if he wants he can try and get one with the muzzle loader. I know your wondering why he is going to try and get anot...

It's the beginning of another month and with that I have a new picture of the swing. I took it this morning when there was frost on the ground. So it is getting colder here as you see.  This past month for me has been uneventful at the most part.  Last weekend we went to the highest point in Wisconsin, Tim's Hill. The leaves were pretty much off the trees. I did take a few pictures from the top of the tower. Here are a couple of them. It was a perfect kind of day to be there. The wind was calm and only a few people were there. The leaves were so deep you had to almost plow them with your feet as you walked.  Once down from the tower we took a walk on one of the trails that went by the lake that is also there. here are a couple pictures I took of the view of the lake. Recently on Fox there has been a show called Utopia. It's on Friday nights. I like the idea of creating a better place where people really work together to make things work. But this show, which is suppose to be on for a year,  is just based mostly on unnecessary drama not really creating a true utopia.  If they were really serious about it they would have picked people who were not bullies in their ideas.  Now I'm not saying they have to cave to each other just they should be less hot headed when trying to get their point across.  I suppose you would like to know what my Utopia would be like. Well, where do I start...... You start small of course and at the beginning of the year to start planning. So that by spring crops can be planted at the right time. I live in Wisconsin where we have real seasonal differences.  Depending on how many people you want to start out with you have to know how much land you need. Right now I want to say about 100 ac...

October first. A whole month since I wrote anything. Sorry. I haven't been in the mood to ponder on Ponder Pages.  The first thing I will do right now is share the first of the month picture of the swing. As you can see the trees are a little colorful, so fall is upon us. Most of the trees around my place have lost almost all their leaves. This week is colder then last week. Some of those people who say they forecast the weather are saying we could even see a little of that white stuff. The horror of it all. I'm not ready for another winter especially if it's anything like the last one. I just have to take a deep breath, let it out slow and say to myself, "I can handle anything nature has to throw at me.
