Boring Fair

   
This weekend here is our county fair. You'd think it could be a big deal. But it's not. The fair this year is the worst ever. Apparently the carnival they were going to get cancelled and we almost didn't have anything. They do have a few things. About four rides, if that's what you want to call them. And maybe about four games. And a few food stands. Not even a place to get an elephant ear, my favorite. There are the usual animals, but not even many of those any more. As for local booth displays, not even many of those. But it is free to get into. But you still have to pay to see grandstand things as always. This town gets worse and worse every year when it comes to promoting itself. Nobody wants to do much of anything to bring in people in different ways other then work and a little bit of tourism. There is a car show in the park that might bring a few more people in, but don't count on it.
So I was thinking what they could have done to help boost the crowds is to have something like a Dunk Tank.
 
I was asking people if they would go to the fair if there was a dunk tank where they could maybe dunk a political figure person. Believe it of not they all said YES. They also wanted to be able to dunk the bosses at their work.
If there was a Dunk A Politician you would have more people then you can ever imagine show up.
Now how do you get a politician to do this? Well, first you have to remind them they work for us. Not the other way around. Second you tell them they have to prove they can humble themselves from time to time and if they can't, well, they won't be getting any votes from me or anyone else I know.
Plus they can finally get a bath and try to wash off some of that mud that they like to sling at each other.  
The money raised from this event would go to local charities.
If I had a dunk tank and could do something like this I would invite the presidential candidates to come and humble themselves  for all to see. Just to prove they can do it. I mean humble themselves. But then again when was the last time a politician humbled themselves in anyway? Remember, it's all clean fun.
I might start a trend. To be elected you must prove you can humble yourself. If not well.... no office for you.
