Can we change the world for the better?

It's a question I think most of us are are always asking ourselves.
But the way I see it, the way we are going about trying to change things, will not work. It has not worked so far, has it?

Take the Occupy Wall Street movement.
It's just turning into nothing but violence and unfortunately a waste of time and money. If you really want to change things you have to hit them where it really counts, their pocketbooks. I'm sure there are enough very over educated people involved with this movement that can come up with a better plan to change things in a way that the rest of us 99% don't look at you in disgust for your over extreme actions that unfortunately is attracting violence and crime.
It's the kind of thing that can not happen over night. It's a slow process. You must have patients for real change to take place. It must be done in such a way that the top 1% do not even realize it's happening until it's to late. They are no longer the all powerful wizard behind the curtain.

Can we stop people from bullying each other?
The answer unfortunately is, no.
It has always been there and it always will be no matter what we do. It's how all species are. There is always a more dominate one over another. It's instinct. It's cruel but it's the way the natural world works.
But, what we can change is the reasons and tactics some people take to prove they are the top dog, so to speak. It all starts at home. No matter what a parent of a child tells you that they don't understand why their child is doing the things they do to others, it really started at home for some reason or another. That and all those violent video game and TV shows. So many parents are so wrapped up in themselves they don't see or understand that what they do and say influences their children more then anything.  But we are a very selfish world.
So if you really want to change things teach your child the basics; respect, manners, self control, and consequences. Try to do it in a way that has peaceful, understanding results. You are their life long teacher and example. So be proud and teach knowing your child will use their head and not their fists or hurtful words. Teaching hate is why we are where we are today.

These are only a couple of things we as a world need to work on. But I'm not sure anything can really save us from ourselves. We are impatient and want change right now. We want what we want, when we want it.
Take holiday shopping. I'm sorry but there is nothing in this world that would drive me into a store in the middle of the night to save money. It's just another example of corporate greed convincing people that to be on top you have to act like a selfish spoiled brat and trample on whoever you can to be first to the carrot they are dangling in front of us.
Once again you are entertainment for them.

Well that's about it for now.
So till next time keep on pondering the pondering possibilities.
