It's the first of the month again and time to show you the picture of the swing from this year.


And here is the picture from last year.

We did have more snow last year compared to this year. It's still cold  like it was last year. So I guess you can say march came in like a lion this year because we were getting snow flurries this morning. Not like they have been having south and east of here. Which I'm glad. In February it did not get above freezing the whole month. No thirties. Some twenties and more below zero temps then I like to see. 
Two years in a row with the snow still covered with snow at this time of year is kind of depressing. I have plans once again of things I want to get done outside. I just hope I can and that the weather will be better then it was last year.  

Enough of that, I did manage to get two more projects done. Here they are.

Something that can be hung on a door. Maybe for the Forth Of July or if you are very patriotic, all the time.

Just a door stop. Nothing real fancy. Just something simple.

I'm now working on another project and hope to have that one and maybe another one done by next month.

I suppose I should ponder something.
I could ponder about those murdering idiots in the middle east. 
I'm sorry but I really don't see what they think they can prove by doing what they are doing to innocent people. Beheading and burning alive. No logic in any of it. 
I did have one thought the other day. 
I believe in reincarnation. Maybe they are Romans who are trying to live out their brutality form the past. You know going after Christians for their entertainment. History does repeat it's self in different ways. 
I did see that they I.D. the guy who is doing a lot of the be-headings. They said that when he was younger he was really into violent video games. Well it looks like he is playing out these games for real. I'm not a fan of any of those kind of games. In the wrong hands this is what will happen. 
Video games are just a distraction from reality. I know so many people who have games on their  phones and every chance they get they are playing games. I'm not a big video gamer. I have enough problems with my eyes with out staring at a some kind of screen.  

One person that I was sorry to hear died was Leonard Nimoy.

He will be missed.
He lived a long life and did prosper. The world was a better place with him in it. 

Well there were a lot of different things I could ponder but time is short today. I've been working on Saturdays which means anything I do on the weekends has to be all done in less time.

Jean Viken Cold Case

When I first started this blog one of the first things I wrote about was the murder of a local woman. She disappeared Jan 29th 2008 on one of the coldest days of that month. Her body was found I think in May of that year. She had been shot. Her van was found not long after she went missing up north. She was the mother of 4 young children and was going through a divorce at the time. Well here it is 2 years later and nothing has happened to try and find the person or persons responsible for her death. Why? I'm sure the whoever was responsible was really not that smart. It's as if the no one wants to get to the bottom of what really happened to her. Maybe she was not important enough. Maybe she was not connected to the right people.  I wonder what it would take to get more exposure to this cold case. Jean Viken update and other local things.

This past week Channel 7 has been doing stories on the cold case of Jean Viken.I did see one of them. In it the police said they know who did it but they are waiting for someone to come forward. But no matter what four young children will be without their mother for the rest of their lives because someone decided to end her life out of the meanness of their heart. Here is the story I found on the internet: Jean Viken's friends and family remember her as a loving mother of four young kids, a devoted daughter and sister. But nearly four years after her murder, a dark cloud hangs over Jean's memory, as they continue to search for answers. "We were having a birthday party for her because all of her friends would have wanted to get together like we would have done if she was here," Jane Hempel said. Pondering Japan's Earthquake

The earthquake in Japan is just another wake up call for us. It is so far the largest disaster we are dealing with right now. And with all those nuclear power plants having problems there, it will get a whole lot worse.  The earth is talking to us. Telling us the big change is upon us. Instead of fighting wars in other countries we should be preparing our people for this big change that will change our home, planet Earth, in a way that will make life allot more difficult to survive.  Japan had prepared for this kind of event to a point, but this kind of event to this degree is never fool proof.  My heart does go out to all those who are living through this right now.  I will give one prediction for the near future that some might say makes me sound like a crack pot but it is always a possibility.  Here it is: With all the things happening right now natural disasters and political unrest big changes are inevitable.
