Well Christmas is over. I hope everyone enjoyed their time with family and friends. Mine I guess you can say was uneventful. At least nothing earth shattering happened.  Like allot of the country we had a white Christmas. This is the whitest Christmas we have had in a long time. This picture was actually taken the day before Christmas. On Christmas it snowed lightly all day so there is even more snow piled up.  Anyway now that 2013 is almost over, finally. It's time to start pondering the future of 2014. What will this year hold for the world? What will it hold for me? What kind of new dramas will be exposed?(As if we didn't have enough in the last one).  The world is run by drama. Some is bad like losing lots of money, dealing with drama queens, con artists, politicians, control freaks, people that are able to really work but would rather find away to get something for no real effort on their part or someone being very selfish and blaming others for their own a

How did we get to this point that this is an excuse for doing something really bad and it's excepted? But that's exactly what happened to this person. I can't really call him a kid and he is not an adult. He, in my book, is a very spoiled person. With parents who are using everything they can to get him out of murder. They seem to be proud of their rank among us.  But it's the one thing that keeps the wedge between the haves and the very hard working people of the world. And it is only getting worse.  The ones with lots of money are doing all they can to make sure the ones who have very little stay that way. Plus they like to rub it in the average persons face from time to time. With the mega Millions jackpot over a half a billion for tonight it will create another one or more to join the club. Well I have another project done. It's another coaster set.  Well it will be awhile before I can post any new projects. Why you ask? I'll tell you why. I've got to make three of the fish coaster sets. You know I made it before I decided to start the task of doing everything in the book you see on the side. That's what happens when I take pictures of something I make and others think they are very nice and want one for themselves. So before I continue with the next one in the book I have to finish the ones that have been ordered. In case you don't remember the fish here is a picture of what it looks like. One of the sets might take a little longer because she wants the fish to look like walleyes. It will take a while to get it just right. I'll take a picture of it when I get that one finished. I now have two more projects done. This is the first one I did. It's a coaster set. It took a while to do this one. Putting it together, the coasters are two sided. So it was like doing 10 instead of 5. Plus putting together the barn.  This is the last one I've done. It's another coaster set. This one was very simple to do. I had it done in a couple of days. I only work on some of these things a couple of hours a day, when I get time and or I'm not to tired from all the other things I do everyday.  Well as for other things around here, it's been on the quite side except for the husband tearing a tendon by his knee and is now wearing a brace. With it being hunting season around here do you think it stopped him from hunting? No. Here is proof. He got it on the last day of gun season at the last possible moment. Here is one of the old letters I keep talking about. It's a little hard to read. But I'll try to rewrite it so it's a little bit more understandable.  Dear Howard, I received you letter and was glad to hear from you. My arm is better now. I can write now. The past couple of weeks or so allot of channels have been having stories about the assassination of JFK.    Everything Kennedy was out there. Including the release of the Kennedy cousin this week, who just happened to be release from prison after serving 10 years for a murder that happened 30 years ago. But for which he was not charged with until  20 years after it happened. Will he be retried? In my opinion, nope. Why do I say this? Because money talked to the right people at the right time. Just another idea I thought I'd throw out there with all the other ones floating around. The more conspiracy theories the better, right? Or what  about the possibility that Charles Manson could be engaged to this woman?    Why or how could anyone become so involved with someone like him? I often wonder why someone gets involved with someone so violent in prison for life. The man is 79 and she is 25. He is old enough to be her grandfather. She must have some very low self este

It's early in the morning and once again I've been snored out of bed. After looking around at things on the computer I thought I'd look at the local paper. In our local paper, The Star News, there is a section called The Time Machine. In this regular column they have news from the past. Things from 10 years ago, 25 years ago, 50 years, 75 years and 100 years ago. I get a kick out of things that made the news 100 years ago. Like the one this week.  Could you imagine trying to do this kind of justice in today's world?  I find it very interesting how justice was dealt with in my grandfather's time. Like in one of the old letters written to my grandfather in I think 1919.(I'll post it sometime in the future so you can read it for yourself) In this letter the girl describes a crime in Chicago where a man killed a young girl and hid her body in a coal pile. When she was writing this letter the next day the man was going to be hung. I'm not sure how much time

I know it's been a longer time than usual since I posted something. But I couldn't seam to think of anything to write about. I could do something about all the political things going on, but what different things could I write that has not already been said.  I could write about the shooting at that airport, but why.  He's just another young person who didn't see a future for himself and did not want to live so he wanted suicide by cop. For some reason he had a beef with TSA and decided to use that as his excuse to go off the deep end. Seeing he was afraid to be alone in death he wanted to take someone with him. Well he survived so that plan did not go as he had planned.  I wonder how many video games he played? Just asking, so don't get your undies in a bunch. I'm not saying he played allot. Bullying is once again in the news because another young girl was tormented till she couldn't take it any more. My heart goes out to her family.  As for the 14 year old and 12 year old that were behind most of it, well all I can say is that is a hard way to learn not to bully someone just to make yourself feel superior over someone . But is was learned behavior, as when it comes to this kind of behavior. Case in point the stepmother being arrested for beating on two boys.  When you grow up in the kind of environment where bad behavior is considered normal and something that is glamorized on TV what do you expect the end result to be.  I'm just glad that social media was not around when I was growing up or my life would have been a whole lot worse then it is.  I was bullied when I was growing up. I try to put as many of those memories behind me as possible but, when I hear about another young person who has been pushed to the point of killing themselves, these memo

"This is not a game." So says Boehner. Well you could have fooled me. He kind of remind's me of Colton from Survivor. If you watch Survivor you know about this guy. When things don't go his way or people don't play his idea of the game, where he is the ruler, he finds a way to quit. It turns out the last time he was on it he faked having an appendicitis attack.  Like Jeff said," Colton is one of those people that should never have gotten off the couch." I'm not saying Boehner will quit. He just wants to make everyone live their life the way he wants. And he will destroy everything if it doesn't happen the way he wants.   When it comes to politics I will admit I know next to nothing about it. I did the history on plastic last time, so now I'll tell you about what people said when I asked them. The answers I got were mixed. Some thought it would be a better world, while some said it would not be. Some said it would be a healthier one, some said there would be allot more death and illnesses. Some said it would be cleaner, while others said there would be allot more garbage or waste of other resources.  All of these answers are right to some point.  We would be using more other natural materials for some things. Wood, metal, rubber and cloth.  There are so many ways to look at things. It all depends on how you are looking at things at the time.  I for one would think it could have been a better world if some of the plastics that are out there now were never invented. This is a question that has been bouncing around in my head for a couple of weeks. What triggered it? I was looking around at work at all the things that have plastic in them or is all plastic. Then I thought about all things in all of life that are some kind of plastic. I'm guessing that 90% of everything in our life is made of some form of plastic.  This got me to thinking about the history of plastic. So I looked it up. This is what I found. The first time plastic was revealed was in 1862 by a man named Alexander Parkes. He called it Parkesine. It was made from organic cellulose. It was suppose to do anything natural rubber could but cost less. This first attempt to mass produce was poor because he tried to reduce production costs. Just think of that, a factory trying to cut cost to make more profit. Now I know where that started. In 1869 celluloid was introduced. It was made from cotton fiber and the plant material camphor.
