Snowy Squirrel and a Sculpture in the Snow

Image
This morning we noticed a squirrel digging in the snow around the bird feeder looking for seeds. It was fun watching him dig under the snow all covered with snow. It's a good thing Fawn didn't the squirrel, she would have gone balletic. This is a picture I took about a month ago of a snow sculpture that a neighbor did on his pond. Every year he does some kind of snow sculpture in his yard. This year as you can see it's a sinking ship.

PonderingThoughts about Mom of 14

For the last few days I've watched Oprah and Dr. Phil talking to the woman who had those 8 babies and her parents. I came to one conclusion, she is living in a state of denial. She never really answered any of the questions she was asked. I still believe she is a royal pain. She has never and I mean never taken no for an answer about anything. She believes she's always right no matter what others try to tell her. But I think things have finally gotten to the point where there is no denying she has gotten herself into a situation that she will never be able to handle things 100%. She will be lucky to handle things 5% of the time. She could get the point where it could become to much that she might have to be watched for fear of doing something very bad to herself and or her children. With the hospital setting down rules for things that have to be done before the babies can come home, she could start to panic. I just want to know why she did not lines things up before she gave b

A couple of things that are bugging me

I was thinking allot today about things that are bugging me. Number one; The woman who had those eight babies. If she really loves children the way she says she does she will seriously think about putting them up for adoption. I would suggest that they should be adopted in pairs. If she can do this she should be able to prove to everyone she really is thinking about their welfare. They would all have a far better chance of having a better life in a smaller family then being one of 15. When people are found to take the children it should be under the idea that the children will always be in each other lives by staying in contact with each other. One other thing that bugs me about her, is her finger nails. To me they are the kind of finger nails only someone of money and leisure would have not someone who has 15 children. All of her money, every last penny no matter what should go to the children. If I could give her advice right now I would say, "Get your head out of the clouds

I'm a Great Aunt for the 6th time, plus other things

I'm a great Aunt for the 6th time. This time it's my older sisters daughter. My parents first great grandchild. It's a boy. She was going to do a water birth but the baby had other plans. She was a week late so they had her come in and they would help get things rolling. They tried everything but he was refusing to come out. Finally they decide to take him by c-section. Mom and baby are doing fine. I'm not sure if I'll get there to see them but eventually I will. I like to believe that the way a baby enters this world will tell you what kind of personality they will have. With my two, the first one was two weeks late so they decided to break my water to get labor started. I like to say she had to be told to come and you still have to tell her to do things. The youngest one was a week early, which means she is always ready ahead of time for things. Now with my niece's baby he had to be told to come plus he refused to come out the natural way. Like a woman at work

Gooey Butter Cake

I've decided to post the recipe for Gooey butter cake so all can enjoy. Gooey Butter Cake Crust: 16oz. pound cake mix 1 stick butter, melted 2 eggs, slightly beaten Filling: 8oz. cream cheese, softened 16oz. powdered sugar (one box) 2 eggs 1 1/2 T. vanilla Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. For the crust, combine pound cake mix melted butter, and 2 eggs with a fork until moist. Spread in an ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan. ( Pat the crust mixture in the bottom of the pan and slightly up the sides.) In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together for 3 minutes with an electric mixer on high. Turn the mixer down to low and add eggs and the vanilla. Mix well. Pour over crust and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. If desired, sprinkle with additional powdered sugar over the top of cake after baking. I got this out of Llewellyn's Withes' Datebook.
