Rude awakening

I was sleeping very nicely this morning when just after five something woke me up. The husband was outside using his turkey call. What he was doing up at that time, I didn't know. I'm usually the one up at that time while he is snoring away. I laid there till I couldn't take it any more, which was about 6 o'clock. He claimed he had not slept all night. Which means he'll crash this afternoon. He even put out the turkey decoy trying to get a tom turkey to come in. So he could get a picture. None have showed up yet. But he could hear one off in the distance. Where is he right now? He just took a ride around the block to see if he could find anymore. It's a kind of rainy day right now. This afternoon I have to help the theater group I belong to move their props to a new location. I'm hoping it won't be raining at that time. What my town needs is an arts and entertainment center. We do our performances at the high school. But we could use more room and a bi

Pondering Wood ticks and other things

We finally got some rain and things are starting to green up. The bad part about it warming up is the wood ticks are out now. I hate wood ticks. The husband and I after it had stopped raining last night, when it was getting dark, decided to take a little walk to see if we could see any turkeys roosting in a tree. We saw three. When we got back in the house I sat down and felt something on my hand. It was a tick. I quickly ran to the bathroom and tried to flush it down the toilet. It would not get off my hand right away. After a few attempts it finally fell in. I flushed the toilet a couple of times to make sure it went down. The worst part is I've been itching ever since. So as I'm writing this I keep scratching. Just call me Itchy Scratchy. The weather has been so strange. Like yesterday it was about 80 degrees. The day before that it was maybe in the high 40's. Today maybe 50's. I can't remember a time when we had such a difference in temps from one day to the ne

Pondering The Earth

It's another quiet Saturday morning. There are so many things I hope to work on today. The temps here have been in the 60's, which has been feeling very good. But we do need rain. Other parts are the country are getting more rain then they should while here it's like there is a bubble over us. Once it does rain everything should start turning green. I think maybe I'll ponder the earth today. Earth day is coming up so I'll write about what I've been hearing and seeing in the news lately. I've noticed there seams to be allot more earthquakes recently. Not only the one in Italy but in Afghanistan where at least 22 people died and I think if I saw right, Chile. Are these the small warnings before the really big ones hit? Whether people want to believe it or not the changes that are happening to the earth are natural. I believe it's a cycle that the planet goes through every 26,000 years. I know some people know about 2012 but it will not happen all at once.

An Eagle nest

Image
Last Sunday the husband and I went for a ride to check out the place where he had to deliver hay. In this same area we know of a nest belonging to a couple of eagles. We decided to check to see if anyone was home, and they were. I hope we can from time to time over the summer check out how they are doing. It will be allot of fun seeing how their babies will grow over the summer. Although it will be awhile before we will be able to see any but once we do it will be exciting to see them grow. There was in the same area another eagle flying around and we saw what we think could the start of another nest by another pair. In this same area we also saw a couple of cranes. We noticed these birds have been back in the area what seams like allot earlier then usual. We normally don't have to go so far to see these birds because there are always some that fly over our house or hang in the back woods. But it is the only nest of an eagle we know where it is. Someday I will hopefully be able to

Snow, Again

Image
Sunday morning and all is quiet here. Yesterday was a not to bad of a day, weather wise. You only saw small piles of snow that had been plowed over the winter and were not melted all the way, yet. The husband and I delivered a load of hay and then spent the rest of the afternoon in Wausau with our youngest. I also did a little shopping. We saw lots of animals. Deer crossing the road. One almost slipping on a hill with lots of rocks making it a little bit harder to get where it was going. We also saw a lot of hawks flying around. This morning everything is once again all white outside. I'm really beginning to miss the green leaves on the trees and green grass. If you look close in this second picture you will see a Robin. I'm sure he is tired of being snowed on. While I was taking these pictures I could hear a tom turkey gobbling in the woods. The husband is looking forward to when it's his time to go turkey hunting. Toms only this time of year. With this one hanging aroun

Dumb assism

Do you or any one else you know suffer from dumb assism? You are asking what is dumb assism? It's when you make really dumb chooses for really dumb reasons. Looking at people in your life I'm sure you can think of allot of people who suffer from it. I can think of some people who suffer from it. Like people who get things from stores that say no payment till next year. They have no real plan to ever make a payment. In this case the store is just as big of a dumb ass as the person who did this. Here is another one. The husband told me of a comment someone made when the company he works for had decided no more paid holidays. "You didn't work those days anyway." Dumb ass The other day I was watching the news before going to work when they had a story about a guy who thought he was going to be funny. He lit a match next to the jeep that his friend was putting gas into. Fireball. A woman in the jeep climbed out the window and the driver was able to get a child out of t
