Random book sentences

Yesterday I was looking around at some blogs I like to check out every once in awhile and I found one that caught my eye. It was called A Piece of Peace. This person suggested you find a book turn to page 123 write the 5th sentence down, tag five people who are suppose to do the same thing and see what they come up with. I decided to do something different for myself. I took ten random books off my shelves, turned to page 123, and wrote down the 5th full sentence on those pages. This is what I came up with: These are the books I used; 1) Where the Heart is by: Billie Letts 2) The Return of the King by: J.R.R. Tolken 3) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling 4) A series of Unfortunate Events: The Miserable Mill by Lemony Snicket 5) People of the Owl by: Kathleen O'Neal Gear and W. Michael Gear 6) The Chronicles of Narnia by: C.S. Lewis 7) The Secret Country; The Eidolon Chronicles Book 1 By; Jane Johnson 8) People of the Wolf by: W. Michael Gear and Kathleen O'Neal

Another Pondering Day

It was kind of a boring day for me at work. It was a typical Monday where some machines didn't want to work right away. So I had time to ponder about different things. Like why have there been so many shootings lately? Is there anything people can do to either protect themselves from that kind of violence or prevent it better? More then likely not. Why does there seam to be so many more unstable people in the world? Is it because there are too many people in the world? Is it because of the things we eat and the unnatural things that we have put in them over the years? Is it because family members are not more positive to each other? Or Helpful in anyway? Only the universe knows for sure. And what about the weather and the planet? Since the beginning of this year there has been almost a record number of tornadoes, more snow then we have seen in a number of years and a couple of volcanoes are becoming more active. Is it something that is suppose to happen or is it because of things

My husband the hunter

Image
While sitting at my computer trying to figure out what to write I watch the sun come up . The way the sky is so colorful to the east I w atch the sun rise for a while. I then decided to take a couple of pictures of my backyard. It's about 5 above and no wind. It sounds like we are suppose to get more snow tomorrow. Yuck. My brother-in-law owns the field next to us. From time to time he spreads manure on it. After he does that there is a turkey that comes out and tries to find things to eat. Usually this time of year turkeys hang together but for some reason he is alone. My husband, being the hunter, he can't wait for turkey season to start. He only started hunting turkeys a couple of years ago. He was so proud of his first one he had the tail and beard mounted. Personally I could not kill an animal, but I do eat meat, I just can't be around when one is being killed. My husband also hunts deer. We usually end up with a few deer in the freezer every year. Some years I eat m

Cabin Fever

I know it's not Whining Wednesday but I have a sore throat and I think I'm starting to suffer from cabin fever. I was just watching the TV and they were running a winter storm watch for here until 6pm Thursday. I know I did want an old fashion winter, but I think I've had enough. I want to see green leaves and green grass. I'm tired of white. I wear white for eight hours at work with white walls and stainless steal machines. A guy at work was showing pictures he had taken of his wife standing next to a drift in his yard. It was over her head. People who snowmobile are happy this year. I want to able to go outside and just take a nice long walk down the road or ride one of my horses . In truth when the snow does go away, it will very muddy and a nice walk will out of the question that much longer. I do live on a dirt road. They were thinking of paving it but there are a few people who have houses to close to the road. The road would have to widen to be able to pave it. N

Missing woman update

It's a quite Saturday morning all are still in bed. It's been a few days so I'll catch you up on some of the local news. The van belonging to the missing woman, Jean Viken, was found up north of here in Ashland County, it was in the national forest like I said, in a very remote area. Foul play is suspected. But if they found her van all the way up there that tells me more then one person is involved. She may not be found up there. That could have just been a ploy to get them looking in a different area. The day she went missing it was very cold here. It was also the day that strip joint burned down. My husband said he thinks she was in it when it burned. I told him they didn't find a body. He said, it could have been so hot it would have completely burned it up. I just shook my head and told him, there is always something left when a body is burned. Rumors always run wild when something like that happens around here. In my opinion she could have been left anywhere and

Missing woman

A couple of days ago I posted the picture of a woman. She has been missing for a week now. I understand she was getting a divorce and it was not going well. A person of interest is her husband. If I could guess where to look for her I would say look in the local national forest. It wouldn't be the first time someone was found there. I know I don't sound hopeful about her being found alive but in these kind of situations it almost never ends happily. I had a very boring day today. I did have some time to think about my story. I'm coming close to getting a definite beginning. I really over think things sometimes, but I want to get it just right. I can't think of anything to write. I could write about the elections. I'm still leaning to either Hillary or Obama. No republicans thank you. Now for the thought of the day: "Be true to yourself."

Cheesy Me and A Home Town story

I'm still pondering about what this blog is about. I told myself that I would try not to talk about where I work or to much about my family, but you want to know what, it's almost impossible not to do this. I've worked for the same place for over 27 years. It's hard to come here and not want to write about things that happened at work without saying what we do. So I've decided that I will write from time to time about things that are happening at work, but I will not say the name of the company. I will say what we do, to a point. We package cheese for other companies. We do not make it, we package it. I don't think I'll say what companies they are but I will say how they are packaged. I will also include some of the dramas that happen there. Some times it's worse then a soap opera. I don't work on a line any more. I'm an issuer. I work with a scan gun. That means when the cheese comes out either in 40 pound blocks, 640 barrels, 180 pound block(t
