It's Christmas time Ponders

Image
I wasn't going to post anything right now but, I changed my mind. So sue me. It's early morning, almost 6 am. The husband snored me out of bed, again. When he does that on the weekends I usually check my computer things while it's quiet.  This morning while going through things I had time and a few thoughts to get off my chest. What kind of things you ask? Well there has been a lot of things going on in the world that are really sad to be happening at what is suppose to be the happiest time of the year. Seeing I got time I will put my two cents worth in. The thing going on with Sony and being hacked by someone. The finger is being pointed at North Korea. I'm not sure how I feel about the movie "The Interview" being pulled from being shown to the public. I will say it's only a movie, so chill out. I did not plan on seeing it because it did not appeal to me.  In my opinion when they made the movie they could have made up a country and nam

Well I survived the last month, how about you?  Before I get into anything else in the world I'l show you the picture of this month swing. As you can see we have snow. Actually it did melt almost gone once but then it snowed again and we had the same amount. If you look close you can see what looks like tracks or little trails. Well, last night after dark, after the hunting season closed around here, there were around 15 deer in the yard and field. And they made this area a bucks only zone because we had such a hard winter last season. There are lots deer around here that survived last winter. Speaking of hunting season, the husband got a three point buck on Thanksgiving morning. Our freezer is almost full so we gave it to our youngest daughter. He could only get one deer this time. So far he has gotten one with the bow and one with the regular gun. Now if he wants he can try and get one with the muzzle loader. I know your wondering why he is going to try and get anot

It's the beginning of another month and with that I have a new picture of the swing. I took it this morning when there was frost on the ground. So it is getting colder here as you see.  This past month for me has been uneventful at the most part.  Last weekend we went to the highest point in Wisconsin, Tim's Hill. The leaves were pretty much off the trees. I did take a few pictures from the top of the tower. Here are a couple of them. It was a perfect kind of day to be there. The wind was calm and only a few people were there. The leaves were so deep you had to almost plow them with your feet as you walked.  Once down from the tower we took a walk on one of the trails that went by the lake that is also there. here are a couple pictures I took of the view of the lake. I don't know about you but there is something about calm water and the reflection of the trees with blue sky that to me is something I could just sit by till the sun went down, relax

Utopia

Image
Recently on Fox there has been a show called Utopia. It's on Friday nights. I like the idea of creating a better place where people really work together to make things work. But this show, which is suppose to be on for a year,  is just based mostly on unnecessary drama not really creating a true utopia.  If they were really serious about it they would have picked people who were not bullies in their ideas.  Now I'm not saying they have to cave to each other just they should be less hot headed when trying to get their point across.  I suppose you would like to know what my Utopia would be like. Well, where do I start...... You start small of course and at the beginning of the year to start planning. So that by spring crops can be planted at the right time. I live in Wisconsin where we have real seasonal differences.  Depending on how many people you want to start out with you have to know how much land you need. Right now I want to say about 100 acres. But it coul

October 1

October first. A whole month since I wrote anything. Sorry. I haven't been in the mood to ponder on Ponder Pages.  The first thing I will do right now is share the first of the month picture of the swing. As you can see the trees are a little colorful, so fall is upon us. Most of the trees around my place have lost almost all their leaves. This week is colder then last week. Some of those people who say they forecast the weather are saying we could even see a little of that white stuff. The horror of it all. I'm not ready for another winter especially if it's anything like the last one. I just have to take a deep breath, let it out slow and say to myself, "I can handle anything nature has to throw at me. So be kind to me Mother Nature" I know there is so much that I should ponder. So where do I start.......... ISIS I think it's wrong for them to call themselves this. To me Isis is a Goddess. Why don't they call themselves something  like, M

I know it's been a month but I am still here. Here is the first of the month picture of the swing. I the weeds look like they are flatter then they were last month. The grass is still very green for this time of year because we have been getting a lot more rain then we usually get. At least it's not cold, yet.  The husband is trying to figure out exactly what kind of winter we will have this year. A lot of snow or not. Cold or mild. He has a few methods he goes by but this year he is not guessing. So I guess time will tell what Mother Nature has in store for us this year. My second batch of gnomes have been done for awhile and I remembered to take a picture of them. They look better then they did. I have one more plastic canvas project done. A welcome sign to hang on the door. I suppose your wondering what else I've up to. Well not to much. My youngest one thinks I should ponder things that are not so depressing. She is right. Right now I'm

August 1 and more other things to ponder

Image
I know it's been a while since I've posted anything but I'm sorry. The only excuse i have right now is it's summer and I'm not in the mood to ponder things to much right now. Not to say I haven't been thinking about things because I have. The first thing I will share with you is my first of the month picture of my swing. Ready, here it is. TA! DA! The swing!!!!!!!! The long grass behind it might be a little browner then last month but that's about it. I suppose you want to know what else I've been up to. Well I'm going to share a few pictures with you that I managed to take. This is what I see from time to time from by bedroom window.I manage to get this picture the other day. There is also three fawns the husband has seen in the field. I have not been able to get a picture of them yet. These are my three turkeys. It's always fun talking to them. I just kind of whistle at them and they talk back.  Remember the gnomes I w

July 1

I know it's been awhile since you heard from me. I am pleading, It's nice outside, O.K.  Being the first day of July here is the picture of the swing. I still plan to do something around it to make it look better. Right now I'm working on the front. But that is hard to do because it keeps raining. The husband said one time he was thinking of moving it someplace else in the yard. But what he says and what happens are two different things. Sometimes I have to threaten to do something before he does what he said he was going to do. I just got another project finished. It's the last coaster set. They are suppose to be Japanese Kimonos.  I just could not get in the mood to work on it very often. So there are no promises on when I will get the next thing done. But just keep checking in from time to time and see if I have anything done. Here are a few pictures of things that I saw lately. I try to take Fawn for a day on the days where it doe

A day late and a dollar short

I meant to post yesterday but, I was not home to do that. I did take a picture of the swing for the first of the month. Check it out. As you can see things are very green. Finally! I do have a plan that will someday, hopefully soon,  fix the swing up and make it look more inviting to hang out on. Plus there is a fire pit not far from the swing that I also want to make more usable. But right now I'm trying to get something worked out in front of the house. When I have it all set up the way I want it I will show you the finished product. That is weather permitting and the husband getting the right size blocks to make it look better. Speaking of weather here is a picture I took a little while ago. A rainbow! Well part of a rainbow. It's not easy to see the whole thing when you have a lot of trees around you. Now for what else I have to say. I'll make the comments as short as possible. This guy... An over privileged spoiled idiot blaming the world fo

Dead Fish

Image
The other day at work my brain just started wondering to things I've been hearing lately on the news. I know that's a dangerous thing for my mind to be doing especially at work.   I got to thinking about this scandal with health care for vets. I was just trying to think of a different way to explain it. This is what I came up with. Governments and government agencies are so corrupt and out of touch with the real people.  You could show them a dead fish, dangle in front of their face and they will deny it is dead.  You can slap them across the face with it and they will say it never happened.  You can keep slapping them with it and they will continue to deny it's happening. They can stink to high heaven of dead fish and they will say they don't smell anything bad. So where do we really go from here? All governments are so corrupt there is no fixing them from this point. The gap between the haves and the have nots is getting wider by the second.  M
