Sunday Thoughts

It's Sunday and I think this is the start of the end of our Indian Summer. Today it is suppose to get about 72 I think. The thing I hate about this time is that those stupid Asian Beetles are flying around trying to find a warm place to start hiding for the winter or to hang onto where it is warmest. Every time I open the door to let the dog in or out I always have to make sure that they don't try to sneak into the house. And when you squish them, boy do they stink. They are a huge pain in the butt. Just trying to walk around outside without one landing on you is impossible. And when you drive down the road you hit so many that by the time you get home you can hardly find a clean place to look out. Cleaning the windshield is always fun too. The dumb things are not even native to our area. They were brought here to try to control another bug. The birds won't even eat them because of the smell and taste. I say if mother nature didn't put them here herself they don't belong here.

Watching the news about the way McCain seams to be surprised about all the hatred that is being said at his gatherings about Obama from other people almost makes me laugh. What did he expect? Putting all of those negative adds on TV making it look like Obama is underneath unAmerican. And I did watch the last debate and watching McCain I noticed he tried his best not to look at Obama. He tried not to say his name. He acted like Obama was not worth looking at. His behavor is sending a message to all of the people who do not like Obama because of the color of his skin that they can ralley around him because he believes the same. He'll never admit it but he is part of the old boys club that want to stay in control and keep people of color out of the higher office.
The other night I saw a movie on IFC about what could have happened if the south had won the civil war. It was very eye opening for me. Just think how we could be today if slavery was still exceptable. All people of any color would be the white mans slave just because of the color of their skin. It's scary.
To me it does not matter what you look like, it's the person inside that matters. You can be a jerk no matter what skin tone you are. It's always sad when people believe what they are told about themselves. That because of their skin color they will be considered a certain way. They must get past those feelings and stop believing them. Don't live from past ideas. Things that happened generations ago should not rule our lives today. We are not them. The world should not be that.

So please it's time to change to tone that is starting to happen with this campain. Someone tell McCain to stop it now. I think he will lose because of this negitivity he is putting out there but it will also make this country more divided then ever.

In other news I've noticed PETA has been saying some pretty off the wall things lately. First they want Ben and Jerry's Ice cream made from human milk. How dumb of a statment can this be? And then I heard one the other day about trying to get the Jewish people to stop sacrifing chickens. Are they that dumb to mess any religion even one as large as that one? I just want to say who is the head of PETA and what are they smoking?
I think they are people who really have nothing better to do with their life then to make dumb comments. If they don't think people should eat animals I say good luck trying to stop it. Humans need that kind of protein in our diets. It's the way we are wired. Try to stop a lion from killing another animal for food.
Maybe these people should be put on an Island by themselves with animals that would normally be in our diets plus any other wild animals that are native to the Island. Then tell them to live off the land only eating plants. Someone will be back in 6 months to find out how they are doing.

Thought of the day:
"Practise being happy, and you'll be good at it."
