Paying the consequence

I've decided to ponder consequence.
Do people really understand it any more? Do they teach it to their children?
When you watch the news it's nothing but people not understanding consequences.
In the news lately two stories kind of caught my eye. They involved young people.
The first one was about the two high school boys that raped a drunk passed out 16 year old girl.

I have so many other questions about this. Like who supplied alcohol to underage kids? Who's house was this at? Were there any adults around that know that this party was happening? Are any adults being charged with anything?
This is how I see these boys. They are on a sports team, which elevates them to top dogs at the school. Plus they more then likely come from families who have status in the community.Which gives them a feeling of being untouchable. Which means they didn't feel like they really had to pay the consequence for their actions. Privilege people don't have to pay like the rest, right? Wrong! In my book no matter who you are, where you come from, you all have to pay the same price for the same crime.

The second story was about the two kids that shot a mother in the leg and then shot a baby in a stroller  in the head and killed him. Why? For money the woman didn't have on her?

This little boy will never grow up because someone else did not understand or even care about the consequences of their actions. The two that are being charged for this are 17 years old and 14 years old.
I'm sure that these two didn't come from families of status or privilege. But they did not care about the  consequences to their actions.
It's one of the many things that makes me sad about the future of humanity. It does not look good from the way I see it.
If parents would start teaching kids about consequences and really get them to understand every possible thing that could go wrong, maybe somethings would never happen.
But we all know this will never happen.
There is no fun in being responsible.
I for one always keep in mind the consequences that could happen and always try to determine if it's really worth the bad karma I would invite into my life. I may not pay for the bad thing now but somewhere down the line I will. That's what keeps me sometimes a little too safe, maybe. But then again better safe then sorry. Right?

Well that's my ponder for now.
Till next time keep on pondering the pondering possibilities.
