Running of the Bull...Medford style

Tuesday morning a bull was running around town. Why was there a bull running around town? I'll tell you why a bull was running around town.
Apparently they were doing a breeding soundness evaluations at the fair grounds. What's that? It's where they test bulls for their worthiness as reproductive stock. In other words to see if they have good sperm to create good offspring.
Anyway this bull decided he was not going to put up with this and decided to make a run for it. So the police were called in to help get the animal back. I was told by someone that nine cops were chasing this bull.( I was at work when this was going down.)They tried corral it with their cars. They tried to get it with a rope. They shot it about three or four times with tranquilizers. The bull kept getting away. Some one got the bright idea to use a taser on it, twice. Now to me they did two very big mistakes. First after the animal was shot with the tranquilizers they should have found away to give the bull a chance to slow down and let the drugs work. But instead they kept his adrenalin pumping so the drugs could not work. The second huge mistake was tasing the bull. When you taser a human they kind of flop around on the ground like a fish out of water. When you do this to a wild animal it just ticks them off more causing them to become more enraged then ever.  
They chased this animal around for two or three hours when the owner of the bull said they could shot it, which is what happened. Because of all the drugs in the bull the meat from him is no good so it was taken to a rendering plant for other uses.
That was the excitement we  had around here this week. I just wonder how smart the cops feel right using a taser on the bull.

When I first started this blog one of the first things I wrote about was the murder of a local woman. She disappeared Jan 29th 2008 on one of the coldest days of that month. Her body was found I think in May of that year. She had been shot. Her van was found not long after she went missing up north. She was the mother of 4 young children and was going through a divorce at the time. Well here it is 2 years later and nothing has happened to try and find the person or persons responsible for her death. Why? I'm sure the whoever was responsible was really not that smart. Jean Viken update and other local things.

This past week Channel 7 has been doing stories on the cold case of Jean Viken.I did see one of them. In it the police said they know who did it but they are waiting for someone to come forward. But no matter what four young children will be without their mother for the rest of their lives because someone decided to end her life out of the meanness of their heart. Pondering Japan's Earthquake

The earthquake in Japan is just another wake up call for us. It is so far the largest disaster we are dealing with right now. And with all those nuclear power plants having problems there, it will get a whole lot worse.  The earth is talking to us. Telling us the big change is upon us. Instead of fighting wars in other countries we should be preparing our people for this big change that will change our home, planet Earth, in a way that will make life allot more difficult to survive.  Japan had prepared for this kind of event to a point, but this kind of event to this degree is never fool proof.  My heart does go out to all those who are living through this right now.  I will give one prediction for the near future that some might say makes me sound like a crack pot but it is always a possibility.  Here it is: With all the things happening right now natural disasters and political unrest big changes are inevitable.
