Scandals

This seams to be the year where scandals are revealed.
Just think about all the scandals just from this month alone.
Sex, political, sports, and entertainment.Being the world we are that seams to be all that matters.
How did we get to be such a scandalous world?
How did we get to the point that they are such huge scandals that seam to have been going on for years,and  are just now being exposed? Why now? Why all at once?
These are usually things that should never have been allowed to have started in the first place.
Why do we look the other way when we see something bad going down?
I think one thought is they don't want to be the one known for bringing someone down. Especially if it's someone you look up to. So you sit on it and let if fester till it comes the day that you feel like your going to explode if you don't release it.
Or someone comes up to you looking for something big and offers you something to tell all, so you jump on it. But some people want to make it look like something happened to them but it really didn't. They just want their name to be linked to the down fall of someone big.
My bet is with the second one. Big dollar signs can make people forget about what will happen to them after they finally tell. Not to say these things should not be told, they should. To me it makes things a lot worse the longer you sit on them. Like a hemorrhoid.
But unfortunately the people who are doing the biggest wrongs are people in power and they threaten you to keep quiet or they will make your life a living hell. So starts the silence till the money is offered. Nasty cycle.
But that's the way this world turns. History is nothing but scandals. There is nothing we can do to stop them. You just hope that one does not touch your life when you least expect it.

I do want to comment on the sex scandal at Penn state. One thing that bugs me is the fact that an older man was shower with a young boy. That is just weird to begin with. When I was in school(I've been out of school for over 30 years), it was something that would have freaked me out. You know seeing an unrelated older person naked in the shower with me. Even a related older person would have made me uncomfortable.
Have times changed that much that it's no big deal? Or have I lived that sheltered of a life?
Two things I would like to say to collage kids.
One,stop beating each other up and call it hazing. It's very immature it won't make you a better person just someone with allot of bad karma.
Two, pick better surveys. Next time just ask "Who do you want to spin the bottle with?" (not rape). Just shows people how immature you really are.    

Oh well, that's my ponder for this weekend.

Jean Viken Cold Case

When I first started this blog one of the first things I wrote about was the murder of a local woman. She disappeared Jan 29th 2008 on one of the coldest days of that month. Her body was found I think in May of that year. She had been shot. Her van was found not long after she went missing up north. She was the mother of 4 young children and was going through a divorce at the time. Well here it is 2 years later and nothing has happened to try and find the person or persons responsible for her death. Why? I'm sure the whoever was responsible was really not that smart. Jean Viken update and other local things.

This past week Channel 7 has been doing stories on the cold case of Jean Viken.I did see one of them. In it the police said they know who did it but they are waiting for someone to come forward. But no matter what four young children will be without their mother for the rest of their lives because someone decided to end her life out of the meanness of their heart. Pondering Japan's Earthquake

The earthquake in Japan is just another wake up call for us. It is so far the largest disaster we are dealing with right now. And with all those nuclear power plants having problems there, it will get a whole lot worse.  The earth is talking to us. Telling us the big change is upon us.
