The beginning of May things

I was going to post on May 1st the picture I took of the swing that day but time was not on my side that day. So here it is.
Finally the snow is gone! Yeah!!! Now if it would only stop raining so things can dry up. The trees are starting to bud out so I'm hoping within the week leaves will start popping out. I like green things.

I also finished another project. Want to see?





It's another coaster set. There are two for each pattern. So there are eight. It would be perfect for that person you know that likes to sew.

Well that's what I've been up lately. 

So for things I've been pondering , well lets see where do I start.
How about the weather.
All that heavy rain they got in Florida this last week. Wow! It rained here too the last week everyday. But it was the slow kind of drizzly kind. The husband said he heard someone say that we got about 5 inches in the last week or so since it started raining. 

Now the middle of the country they were getting blown away. Here we were always on the northern edge of these storms where it was cooler. I think I would rather be on the cooler side of a storm like those then the warmer side. Right now as I am writing this the sun has finally shown it's self with blue sky,YEAH! I almost forgot what the big thing in the sky looked like.

And there are the fires in California. I'm sure if Florida could they would share their abundance of rain with them. 

Now on to another thing. Like
This kid. Who wanted to kill his family then blow up his school and kill as many people as possible before he was eventually killed by police. I guess I'll never understand what drives so many young people to try and do such a nasty deed to so many others. I'm just glad for the woman who tipped the police off about something strange in time. I wonder if the whole truth will ever come out about what really drove him to attempt something like this in the first place. Something in his life was very wrong. His parents can deny it all they want, they know what was going on with him and decided to shrug it off as just a phase or not really there. So sad.

 Well that's about all for now.

Jean Viken Cold Case

When I first started this blog one of the first things I wrote about was the murder of a local woman. She disappeared Jan 29th 2008 on one of the coldest days of that month. Her body was found I think in May of that year. She had been shot. Her van was found not long after she went missing up north. She was the mother of 4 young children and was going through a divorce at the time. Well here it is 2 years later and nothing has happened to try and find the person or persons responsible for her death. Why? I'm sure the whoever was responsible was really not that smart. It's as if the no one wants to get to the bottom of what really happened to her. Maybe she was not important enough. Maybe she was not connected to the right people.  I wonder what it would take to get more exposure to this cold case. Jean Viken update and other local things.

This past week Channel 7 has been doing stories on the cold case of Jean Viken.I did see one of them. In it the police said they know who did it but they are waiting for someone to come forward. But no matter what four young children will be without their mother for the rest of their lives because someone decided to end her life out of the meanness of their heart. Here is the story I found on the internet: Jean Viken's friends and family remember her as a loving mother of four young kids, a devoted daughter and sister. But nearly four years after her murder, a dark cloud hangs over Jean's memory, as they continue to search for answers. "We were having a birthday party for her because all of her friends would have wanted to get together like we would have done if she was here," Jane Hempel said. Pondering Japan's Earthquake

The earthquake in Japan is just another wake up call for us. It is so far the largest disaster we are dealing with right now. And with all those nuclear power plants having problems there, it will get a whole lot worse.  The earth is talking to us. Telling us the big change is upon us. Instead of fighting wars in other countries we should be preparing our people for this big change that will change our home, planet Earth, in a way that will make life allot more difficult to survive.  Japan had prepared for this kind of event to a point, but this kind of event to this degree is never fool proof.  My heart does go out to all those who are living through this right now.  I will give one prediction for the near future that some might say makes me sound like a crack pot but it is always a possibility.  Here it is: With all the things happening right now natural disasters and political unrest big changes are inevitable.
